When Doubt Creeps In: A Tarot Reflection on My Animal Communication Journey and Trusting My Path

I have to be honest-this isn’t the post I expected to write after getting certified as a Soul Level Animal Communicator®.

This is something I’ve been working toward for well over a year. I’ve spent countless hours learning, practicing, connecting, and growing. It’s been a journey filled with meaningful moments, deep connections, and a true sense of purpose.

And yet… now that I’m here, something unexpected has happened.

I find myself doubting.
Questioning.
Even shrinking back a little.

After all that time building toward this goal, I didn’t expect to feel this way. I thought I would feel confident, ready, and fully stepped into this new chapter.

Instead, there’s a quiet voice asking, “Can I really do this?”

Turning to Guidance

In the midst of these feelings, I turned to something unexpected-a tarot reading-and what came through stopped me in my tracks. It told me something much deeper. If you’ve ever doubted yourself right after reaching something meaningful this might resonate with you.

Here are the cards that came through:

  • The High Priestess

  • Eight of Swords

  • Strength

  • The Star

As I sat with these cards, something powerful began to unfold.

The Message I Needed to Hear

The High Priestess

A gentle but firm reminder: You already have the gift.

This card speaks of intuition, inner knowing, and deep unseen connection. It reminded me that this path isn’t something I need to force or prove—it’s something I’ve already been developing and embodying.

Eight of Swords

This one hit home.

It revealed that the real block isn’t my ability… it’s my thoughts.

The doubt. The overthinking. The questioning of what I receive.

It showed me that the feeling of being “stuck” is, in many ways, something I’m creating within my own mind.

Moving Through the Fear

Strength

This card brought in a completely different energy.

Not force. Not pushing. But gentle, steady courage.

Confidence doesn’t come from suddenly feeling ready—it comes from continuing anyway, even when doubt is present.

  • trusting those first impressions

  • speaking what I receive

  • showing up imperfectly but honestly

A Beautiful Reassurance

The Star

This card felt like a deep exhale.

It carries the energy of hope, authenticity, and quiet light. It reminded me that I don’t have to chase or prove anything.

I simply have to be myself—open, genuine, and willing to share.

The right people… the right animals… will find their way to me.

What I’m Learning

Doubt doesn’t mean I’m not ready.
It means I’m stepping into something that matters.

I’m learning to trust what I receive, even when it feels subtle.
I’m learning to move forward gently, without pressure.
And most of all, I’m learning that this path isn’t about perfection—it’s about connection.

An Invitation

If you’ve ever looked at your animal and wondered what they might be thinking or feeling… you’re not alone.

If you feel called to explore that connection more deeply, I would be honored to connect with you and your animal.
